Hey Matt,
I am a little bit in your boat with you. Dh and I are leaving in a couple of weeks for Myrtle Beach, SC and perhaps a few other places to feel the job climate. Why Myrtle Beach? We have friends who live there. Work is really bad here in Michigan. We feel as though we are in a sinking boat here. Nothing is improving just getting worse.
It is very scary but also can be a bit of an adventure to move to somewhere new.
Ask yourself a question:
What would be the worse thing that could happen if I moved?
If the answers aren't more than you can handle, then go for it.
My biggest hold here are my grandkids. I am very close to them. Other than that reason I have nothing to lose.
We are putting our house up for sale as soon as we return from our trip. The housing market is down and that could create a problem for us.
Funny thing we drove to Vegas with some friends about 25 years ago to look into the job market. Our friends stayed in Vegas and we returned home. They moved back here after 2 years. A lot of people stay in Vegas that is why it is the fastest growing city in America.
Maybe someday we will meet in Vegas if you decide to move there.
