Regarding Ellis Island...
It's basically what everyone has been talking about.... little place... has a 'locals' feel to it. The whole place is about the size of 1/2 of a supermarket.... the PIT is just 7 tables at the most. And, at mid-day, only one table is open. Just one bar smack dab in the middle. Ribs on the patio, metro pizza tucked in a corner, and THE RESTAURANT at the other end.
If you get there between 440pm and 7pm, you WILL WAIT for a table. The waiters will forget things... so, really it's best not to make a whole bunch of requests and substitutions. I did my best with "495 special, cooked medium, NO GRAVY on the mashed". LOL. Didnt get too WORDY in my ordering. But, folks.. that steak is very very very tender.
