Greg... i'm rev'd up i tell ya. I guess that's why there is a bit of excitement in me & my dimeanor (Spell) & typing. Not sure what else to say. This whole thing can come crashing down on me if things dont click. Such as, employment... i have a few places in mind. But, no definate interviews. I should have gotten my NV i.d. when i was in town before, but didnt. So, i'm sure i'll take care of that with 'priority one'.

My plan is:

1) get into town, move my stuff in, catch my breath
2) the following day, get employed... or even talk to a temp agency
3) immediately get a cash-flow!!!!
4) get my feet planted & get a bankroll
5) move out & get my OWN PLACE, where i could cover rent... or I WOULD CALL THE SHOTS of getting a roommate & do the 'pushing around' lol. Either that, or meet some female casino host with 7000 square foot home & we have a romance & i (eh, that's dreaming).
6) flourish & be mighty happy

But, i'll tell ya what... i have a feeling that i'll be happy during 1 thru 5 as well.

Greg, the weather... was... well you know exactly what i was talking about. Hydration is important.

My funds were limited - as they WILL BE for now on - so there wasnt any shows, etc, etc. I love the GC.. it's a great place. My only fear is i will gain more weight than i oughta from their buffet, lol!!!!! But, i can see it as being my 'home base'. As for Ellis Island, what can i say... you can get a DYNAMITE steak with the fixings for $4.95 24/365. What a deal!! Greg, it's location is (estimating) 1/2 to 1/3 mile from intersection of strip/flamingo... just go down flamingo & when you get to Koval make a right, and it's maybe 45 yards from the corner (which is an Arco).

(of note, there is a website something like lasvegasgasoline - cheap . net or SOMETHING)... and i think they remark this station as being one of the cheapest in town for gasoline ... as they do a GAS WATCH and do their postings .. popular with locals and cabbies).

Anyhow, if you were on foot... it's certainly doable. In the HEAT, it would take something out of you. I saw foot traffic periodically in that area. Also, i saw cabs taking people TO the Ellis Island. That's not to say there are cabs WAITING there to take people back to the strip............ i'm just saying that the cabs no about the place & prolly drive tourists there regularly.

Sidewalks (mirage/caesars)....

The moving sidewalk (that exits the Mirage by the lion habitat) & takes you to the street, it's STILL THERE, but wasnt moving, so you'd need to do your own 'moving'. From what i remembered... you'd get off the moving sidewalk and

1) walk forward 20 steps and you'd be on the strip
2) walk to your right & be on the INBOUND Caesar's sidewalk towards the Forum shops.

Well, for #2.. there isnt such a thing. Maybe i dont get to LV enough.... because you just walk & walk & walk & then go in these doors that take you to the 'outskirts' of the 3-story portion of the Caesar shops. This is the section that has the spiral staircases. That's what i meant greg.

The Stardust was a doozy. Every employee there was fine (like i said). But, it's showing it's age. An example... the hallway carpet upstairs when you come off the elvator has numerous areas that is faded & it 'bubbles up', where it's worn & lost it's 'stretch'.. so as you walk you see WAVES of carpet sorta sticking up. That thunderstorm was wild!! But, hey, it wiped the dirt & bugs from my truck from the trip!!!!

I just noticed SW airlines is doing a job-fare @ the port in LV in mid august... i think i'm gonna have a lookzie.
