Al, lol (regarding) downtown!!
The dice have been doing me proud i have to say. I'll be very honest, there are times that i just knooooow i can nail an established point when i'm throwing them. Doesnt make sense--but i guess i just get the FEELIN.
There are cold spells with dice--and i had my share today. That's life. Guess what, i bought a mini-fridge for my room. How dandy is that.. cold beverages are within reach as i type on my keyboard. LOL. But, seriously, i'm upstairs, the kitchen is downstairs - something had to give.
Al, the SOUTHCOAST is a nice property. I still dont really get it's theme. I mean you have to look at the paper placemats to (maybe) get it. It shows a beach scene. Maybe i'm not the smartest fella... but is there a region in the world called the SOUTHCOAST? Is it like the french riviera? I just dont know. The casino is spread out & roomy. There's never a problem of smoke unless your NEXT to a smoker. Quite high ceilings. The place is (i believe) just 2 or 2.5 yrs old. It has bingo, mega size movie theater, bingo, coffee shop, buffet, steak house, italian restaurant, mexican restaurant, coffee/pastrie thing, and the ice cream parlor.
So, yes, basically it's very similar to other COAST casinos. The casino is VERY easy to navigate. You never have to twist your body as you make your way thru a row of slots. Like i said - plenty of room. Three days ago they opened up a deli-type sandwhich place right next to the sportsbook. The prices are steep though. Havent ordered anything from it. But every sandwhich is near $10. They pile em high from what it looks like.
One comment, the chairs in the sports section of the sportsbook stink. They're smallish & the cushioning isnt so good for the posterior. Bellagio please send the SOUTCOAST some of your sportsbook chairs, lol.
I'll say this though, the staff @ Orleans, Gold Coast, and the Southcoast are especially friendly at the betting windows. If you mis-name a team or betting # -- they dont start yelling at you or look at you funny. Even if it's crowded.
If i were visiting LV -- i think i might give SOUTHCOAST a try. It's location is 'blah' .. but, i've talked to a guy standing next to me @ the rouette table & he said they're pretty good. Plus, they've got the 40 inch flatscreens upstairs. Myself - i'm glad to hear they have central heat / air. The older COAST Hotels dont all have that.
