Default Don't Worry About It

First, the chip is the RNG which stands for "Random Number Generator". It is an EPROM which means "Eraseable / Programable Read Only Memory". They can't just go in and change the payback percentage without special equipment and programming knowledge. Even then, it would be illegal. They have to work with the machine's manufacturer to replace or reprogram the chip and they also have to file it with the gaming commission. If they were to secretly change the chip, they could lose their license and be open to legal action both by the state and by patrons. Even though they're shutting down, the owners don't want to get into trouble. If they were busted for changing RNG's, they'd probably never get another gaming license which means they'd be out of the industry forever. So, don't worry about it. Go play at the Frontier, have a great time and enjoy the memory.
