Default A day at the races

Took an afternoon the other day and went down to Canterbury (MN) to watch the horses run. Not a big horse bettor, which is good cuz I also wasn't a winning horse bettor, but it's a fun afternoon. We grabbed reserved seats up in the grandstand, but went down trackside for a race or two to get the sounds and smells. Also went back to the paddock to scope out the horses before the race, maybe eyeball a winner. Worked one time, didn't work a second time.

After that spent some time on the simulcasts from CA, but just couldn't get anything to hit. Mostly exotic bets, though, like trifectas and superfectas, so hitting one of those would've made the day.

Significant downside of the track vs. the book is ... no girls in skimpy outfits bringing free drinks! Something wrong about paying for drinks while betting.

By prior agreement, we bypassed the cardroom this trip, but I did take a peek and see they are spreading 7-stud 2/4....

I love the race track. Went memorial day weekend to Arlington in Il.
Came back $1.50 out, so figure that was pretty cheap entertainment for the afternoon. Husband on the other hand was out about $100. but still was a fun day. In April went down to Keenland in Lexington Ky. for some races. Did a bit better there. Combined it with a week road trip through Kentucky and Indiana.
