JET The newest nightclub addition from The Light Group opens its doors Dec. 30 at The Mirage. The next night, Jet is celebrating its 24-hour birthday, and as coincidence would have it, it's New Year's Eve, too! Kid Rock is scheduled to host the all-night festivities, and the rock star will return to his D.J. roots by spinning a live set. The 15,000-square-foot club features three rooms playing hip-hop, rock, house and dance music.

Tickets are $200 for general admission. Table reservations are $300 per person, with a minimum of six people per table, and includes a bottle of Dom Perignon, in addition to required bottle service. Doors open at 10 p.m. For reservations, call 792-7900 or www.jetvegas.com.

TAO LAS VEGAS

Party seekers who wish to reach enlightenment on New Year's Eve should congregate at Tao. The nightclub features a 20-foot Buddha that presides over celebrations. But that's where the spiritual part ends.

This combination restaurant/lounge/nightclub is throwing a New Year's party featuring guest host Paris Hilton. Located at the Venetian Hotel Resort Casino, Tao will have an open bar from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., and food servers will be offering selections from its Asian Bistro. The venue has three rooms encompassing 40,000 square feet, and each will have D.J.s spinning records well into the wee hours.

Stratosphere Top of the World

Those looking to soar to new heights in 2006 can start their mission early at this restaurant above the clouds at the Stratosphere. Early seating is $125 per person and includes a four-course meal, but the real partiers should wait for late seating, which takes place between 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. and costs $350 per person. The price for late seating includes a five-course meal and entry into the restaurant's lounge, which will feature live music and a midnight champagne toast.
