Original question was:
Does the Plaza suck? I would need a base line for your personal preferences to completely answer your question but The Plaza does not suck-not entirely. Rooms run the complete table I have stayed there twice , my 1st room was great , spacious clean recently upgraded, the second my room was an absolute dump! but after one night I asked to move and they moved me to a mini suite! (it was kinda dumpy too, but still a suite). The casino can have a great rowdy vibe at times and a lot of chain smoking blue hairs as well. There is an undeniable strange funk permeating the entire 1 st floor. For restaurants Center Stage is a Vegas Classic, with a view like that the service and food become very unimportant! (which are both good) The pool reminds me a little of an inner city YMCA, a little run down but a great roof top view.

I actually played a little at the Plaza last time, and I enjoyed it.
I thought the selection of games was good and the drink service was fast. It is nice compared to a few of the other downtown spots.

I rank the Plaza after my favorite places (Golden Gate, El Cortez, MSS) but it has a better vibe (to me) than Fremont or Four Queens. Lately all I play there is poker. Only room I've seen was a three bedroom suite, recently remodeled, and that was nice. IMO, the pool area is the best downtown - GN pool is swankier, but too small, too enclosed, and too exposed to traffic in the halls.
