i started monday
it's at G E S Exposition Svc. i am on my feet for 10-plus hours a day doing odd-work They are the ones who design / build / signage / etc for BOOTHS at trade-show conventions. Big company, but it's impersonal. I think just me TALKING about the company as a 'temp' hired thru an agency is EVEN 'taboo' according to the manual i read. They got card-key access thru a whole ton of doors to get in there.. mostly i just knock on the door. They said my hours may increase on account of the 'season'. My back & feet ache like you cant believe. I know the saying 'hang in there' -- but i may lose my mind if i stay there. Oh, and also my back muscles. I can tell you more info -- but it may bore you. mK |

Yeah, this is probably a less than ideal job, but... you accomplished your first objective, which is paycheck. Sometimes the problem with a job is it takes away the time and energy you need to look for a better one, but that's the new objective: a better/more permanent placement.
But also keep in contact with your temp agency person, too. Let'em know, hey, things are going ok but if something more like x comes up, I'm interested. The good news is you're a known commodity to them (or will be soon) so they'd have more confidence placing you. |

Good luck getting settled in your new locale. Hope the job works out for you. It will be nice to have somebody local to keep us IN THE KNOW! You can tell us what is going on in our favorite city.
