Default First post-looking for things to do for upcoming trip

Hi all,
I stumbled upon this site while I was looking for good coupons online and have been hooked for about a week. I really enjoy hearing about others trips, what they did, where they ate, and so on.

The reason why I wanted to start posting is I've got a trip planned from 9-4 to 9-8 and have been trying to find good deals online. Thanks to this site I have learned about the five dollar steak special at Ellis Island. Does anyone know of any other deals or good eats. Also would like to hear everyone's "thing" to do everytime they visit.

Thanks in advance for your opinion/info.

Even without coupons, there's good deals downtown: $4 lunch plates at Golden Gate's diner (not the shrimp bar in the back, although the dollar shrimp there is Vegas must-do); the Cal's Market St Cafe has a $7 prime rib that's pretty good too.

Kady's Diner at the Riviera is decent, and there's a coupon you can print off on their website.

Almost goes without saying, but don't miss the (free) fountain show out front of Bellagio at night.

Where are you planning on staying? That might give us a clue as to what is in that area.
A must is to just check out all the casinos and see what they look like.
There is alot to do that doesnt cost alot.

We have gone to the Harrahs afternoon Mac King show which is great and usually can get a discount ticket at Harrahs.

I have been to Vegas a few times before. The first time I stayed at The Luxor for only two nights. The last time I stayed at The Tropicana. I spent most of my time at MGM for gambling and mainly drinking (great drink service). I got a pretty good deal to stay at The Tropicana again (315 for 4 nights, M-TH, flying out of Indy). Since I have been there a few times I have seen all of the big attractions (Bellagio fountains and conservatory, the Eiffel Tower, and so on). I am mainly trying to find out what are other things to do on the strip that don't cost a lot of money. I also want to check out a show or two, my girlfriend really wants to see O at The Bellagio and I want to see the Blue Man Group.
Any suggestions.

Get Players Club cards everywhere you gamble. You might be able to get some comps. If you like the Beatles, you can get a 2 for 1 coupon at this site. I've seen the Fab Four show at the Aladdin and enjoyed it.

People i know that have seen the blue man group either hate it or love it. Personally, it sounds like a really SILLY SHOW. I have heard that the first 14 minutes of the show is men with blue faces launching popcorn from their mouth to anothers' mouth. Oh well.. i havent SEEN the show so oh well.

Lounge acts are always - a - plenty at many hotels. The GC plays jazz just outside the sportsbook in their lounge.

Big Elvis might be worth a look.

Since moving to LV, i've had the Ellis Island steak special 3 times. It's very good. Fair warning... between 4:30pm & 8pm, you could have a wait of at least 30 min (or more). The service is fair to midland. But, it's a good deal. I may have to order the french dip sandwhich next time.. it looked like a WINNER @ a neighboring table.

I've got (somewhere around here) 4 matchplays for the E.I. Since july, ive tried 3 tiimes to win with em... have NEVER won. So, i just skip them and pocket the CUT-OUTS from the placemat.
