Default mK -- LV Update -- aug 19, 2006

It's now saturday morning in Las Vegas. I'll try to type less this time (as not to take up all of your time).

Yesterday i worked an 8 hour day (instead of my 'supposed to be' 10 hours). But, i didnt mind. All the time being on your feet is a real doozy. I need to submit my weeks' hours to the agency so i get my dough.

On thurs, i did the buffet @ the SOUTHCOAST. It was paralleled with the GC. Nice layout & a good salad bar to boot. The offerings in the italian section were numerous!!! My only complaint is that the chairs are somewhat hard.

I went to the SOUTHCOAST sportsbook to just watch a few innings of a baseball game. I dont care for their sportsbook, chairs are not to comfy.... and.... well.... not that 'roomy'...for...for your buttocks! LOL. Ther other thing is, all of their viewing screens are mounted up high -- so you need to really tilt your head back. The only exception is the mega projection screen that is at eye level... but that is utilized for the horse races. Sigh. I will admit, drinks were offered often @ the SC sportsbook.

Last nite on my way home (while attempting to board the 215) i was rear ended, and my vehicles' bumper is now curled under. What a snarled mess. I wasnt hurt - but i think this will be a headache in getting it repaired.

My plans for the weekend are to do some laundry, grocery shopping, and get an NFL parlay ticket. If i jump back on this weekend.... i'll post my selections, lol.

As a pony player, I don't see the problem here.

Sorry to hear about your truck, what a pain.

If you're betting preseason NFL, you're really gambling. All the personnel changes, plus who's really playing to win?

doc al -- you might be right -- horse players watch their races................ sports fans (about 30% will actually sit there and watch it), rest will be on there way (like me), he he he he.

I went to the SUNSET STATION for a look around. Was real quiet there today... parking spots were awfully close to the front door on a saturday at 10:50am. Gambled $15 at dice, no luck.

Drove around & found my way to the GVR. I am starting to see the orientation of this casino -vs- the Thunder Valley (that was near me in sacramento, ca). The casino is 'okay'... but many tables were $10 min & slots didnt have too many bells ringing. VP wasnt full pay. My only gaming was a wager for the ranger/tigers game to go under 9.5 runs tonite. They said they DID NOT HAVE parlay wagering for pre-season football. Oh well.

I ate the buffet at GVR. It was 'fair', but it was pricey @ $18 (and that was WITH MY stations card). I was going to step out of line, but it was busy and there were folks behind me and in front of me.... i thought what the heck -- i'll give it a go. It was layed out nicely... it's just that nothing really grabbed my eye (nor tongue). Carrot cake may have been the hilight of the meal. The mexican section was VERY poor (beans, mass-produced taco shells, menudo, and some garnishes). Gosh fellers, cant you do better? Their pizza... no comment. Prime rib--pretty good. Well today was my one N only stop to GVR i think.

I'm told that GVR does have FPVP, but I think you have to hunt to find it (I didn't). That place just didn't grab me, but it may be a different deal if you stay there, and use the pool. I liked Sunset and Texas stations better.

Al ... it didnt grab me either.

It's now sunday... my satur wager for the Tex Ranger game to go UNDER won. So, i cashed that this morning @ SUNSET STATION.

My wager for today is SEA -vs- INDY (nfl) to go under 39 pts. We'll know later for sure, he he.

You know--some of these vp machines -- i've noticed that they pay 9/6 for jacks or better. But the payout for two pair is ALSO 1 to 1. Is that normal Doc Al ?

If it's not a bonus poker variant, that's a huge loss:
(from http://members.cox.net/vpfree/PayV.htm )
1-1-3-4-6-9-25-50-800 ... 86.71%
1-2-3-4-6-9-25-50-800 ... 99.54% - JoB (FP)

Matt...I just sent you a Private Message.
I've never sent one (nor recieved one)...I wonder if it works here.
The site gave me some grief at first so I don't know if its working...
check up on the top task bar and see if you have a message.

What it's about is my Sept 3-7 trip. If you want to hook up at
the RIO on Sunday, I'll buy ya THEIR buffet dinner.

Well, I'm glad to see it works....DO YOU know how it works?
At the bottom (somewhere) of my PM, there should be a reply
...send me back something, again, I've never had a PM on this
board and I'm curious to see how similar it is to the other boards...
I'll surf around and come back and see if I can spot a message.

If you've never replied to a PM, you should be able to space down
just below my post, add yours and subbmit it.
If that isn't working, send me a note here at home: riogreg@sbcglobal.net
