Default First trip to Vegas

was I believe in 1978 on our 10th wedding anniversary. There were alot of empty spaces on the strip but I really liked the small Mom and pop casinos. I knew the first time I walked into the old MGM I was hooked. When was your first time and what do useguys miss???

"what do useguys miss" ?? I've got to laugh... i can just SEE YOU ordering a cheesesteak sandwhich!!

((ooh, that doesnt sound 1/2 bad))

I first came to LV in the late 70's ... i was a youngster along with my parents for a 3 day vacation. Was most fascinated by one thing--the neon lites!!

My first trip was '01 or so, so I shouldn't have a lot of things that have gone away, exactly, but there's a few:

All the MGM-mirage changes are not, IMO for the better: Mirage decor, Treasure Island decor, Bellagio Baccarat bar (now couches instead of cocktail tables)

Never got to the Sky Lounge atop Polo Towers, unfortunately.

Changing the Napoleon lounge from a cigar/jazz place to yet-another dueling piano bar is unwelcome.

Guess what I miss the most are some of the old casinos. The new big ones just arnt my cup of tea. Have started going to off strip and downtown casinos / hotels for our Vegas stays lately.
