Default Sept 03, 2006 (( mK update ))

Well, hello everyone. Greetings from Henderson, NV...

It's a warm sunday evening. They say there will be lightning / thunderstorms (30% chance) tonite & tomorrow. I passed on that info to Greg tonite as we ate dinner here in mecca.

Greg, it was a pleasure to meet you. :-D

Greg treated me to the buffet @ the Rio... it was pretty good actually!! The line to get in was complete insanity -- it roped around and around for 92 miles. Luckily, greg has plutonium status with McHarrah's -- so we got in the executive entrance. Furthermore, the dining area was a tad nicer than the common-folk area, he he he. Thx greg!!!! Good food, beverage, and service... but most of all - a nice visit with GREGRIO. Woohoo.

I did a bet or two at the dice table as Greg looked on... i won my bet & soon enough Greg had to depart for his evening show. We parted ways. I gave a tiny bit back to the Rio before i drove back home. Yes, Greg... i know what you told me. But, not to worry.

Otherwise, i'll give a quick breakdown of my week & such:

I worked mon-fri..... 3 of the days 10 hrs, 1 day 9 hrs, and 1 day 8 hrs. The workload can be somewhat unpredictable i reckon.

My vehicle is not yet repaired, but the adjuster (for that yahoo-lady) says i can come in & get that done asap.

Eating / drinking..... nothing fancy was consumed. I did the SOUTHCOAST for dinner once this last week, as well as the GOLD COAST. Yes, the buffet for each. Otherwise, it's been just simple, cheap eats such as home-made sandwhiches or mcdonalds, etc, etc.

As for drinking...... i drank saturday morning at GREEN VALLEY Resort. I wasnt planning to, but the spirit of the roulette table condoned it without hesitation. How could i resist?!?

This will be my segway into gambling (he he he he)...

Gambling:

Mon to Fri --> none
Saturday morning i went to the GREEN VALLEY Resort. I was just going to get a football wager (college game) and be on my way. No more than $15 in my pocket i tell ya. Well, a few rolls of the dice & i'm at $41. I sit down at the Roulette Wheel... and i'll quickly tell you the details (short version).

Roulette begin: $41
Roulette high amount: $131
Roulette how much i left with $77

And, here's the long version: As i sat down at the table, i noticed on the board that #11 has hit twice in a row. Normally i IGNORE these boards on account of they're for entertainment only -- and have NO baring (spell?) on the outcome of the next spin. Well i jumped on the #11 & won a few chips. Mind you -- the minimum was $1 chips & a minimum of ten chips bet per spin. Soon enough i hit some splits & got 17 chips, 17 chips, etc, etc.

Before long... these two guys sit down and begin playing. One of them says to the dealer "hey, what if our birthday is coming up? what do we get!?!?" in a friendly tone. The dealer just smiled. No big deal. One of the guys name was "matt". I asked him when his birthday was. He responded "me and my friend matthew have the same birthday, it's Sept 4th". I was dumbfounded. I paused... then said ... "are you kidding me?". So i took out my i.d. and showed it to him. ((((( my b-day is also sept 4th... and my name -- well YOU KNOW ))))). So, we all looked at each other (even the dealer) as if we we're gonna all say 'holy @)_*&$%87'. It was a cosmic event.

Well, the two fellas doubled up their chips quickly...myself, it was more of an up/down thing. I decided to 'walk' & get out of their with some profit. The table was very lively & we rooted one another on with gusto. Drinks were offered & i obliged to consume them. I had two amarretto sours. This ws before 10am on a saturday, plus i was driving, plus the bartender was making em strong.... i had to cut myself OFF.

Well, i got my football ticket from the sportsbook (by the way i won on it that afternoon)... i did a FIRST HALF WAGERING ticket. First time i did that.

Otherwise, no gaming took place other than tonite w/ GREG.

Weather here has been a constant 101 or 102 for the whole week... i'm ready for temps in the 90's to hover above me (please).

That's about it... not sure what else to say.

mK

Always look forward to the updates. Nice to walk out ahead after dabbling at the tables. The matt trifecta -- what are the odds?

Love to hear of your up dates on working and eating and gambling.
Makes for some interesting reading. Thanks.
Glad you got to meet Greg. When out there in spring never did get a chance to meet up with him.
