Hi, everyone...
Greetings from the outskirts of LV, NV. I'll give a rundown of my week and such. Meanwhile, i hope each and everyone of you is doing well!!!! It's sunday afternoon & i'm enjoying my first of 2 days off. I have sun/mon as my off days now. Yesterday (sat) i worked. It was a relaxed day... and the amount of Managers @ the shop is very very minimal. That's a good thing. I finished up the week with few hours altogether... so, i need to make my next week a 'full' one. Oh well, not much i can do with sickness. Speaking of which, i am feeling better. I had strep throat since wed night. It was a doozy. I feel as if i'm about 85 to 90% right now. I slept pretty well last night. It may have to do with the weather. At noon today it was 74... and that's a good temperature i tell ya!!! Gasoline here is (i dont know why i mention gas, but i do each week) $2.72 if you look for it. I was reading on the news that LV does not get gasoline trucked in. It's brought in by fuel-lines. It's the same for the jet fuel out at McCarran. How cool is that. Well, maybe a lot of cities are like that... i guess i just dont know. Tomorrow i wont do much except drop off my truck & pickup my rental car that's supposedly supposed to be waiting for me at the facility. The weather is fantastic... but i may just relax & do laundry.. have to watch my pennies to a 'point'. Yesterday evening i made it out to the SILVERTON. This is south of the strip. Not as SOUTH as the SOUTHCOAST... but it's down there a bit. I have to say i wasnt too impressed. Although, the dice tables were 10x, that's about it. The cocktail waitresses werent eye-candy, that's for certain. Nothing was really luxorious in the place. They had full pay VP, which was a good thing. I guess i'd have to sum it up as good playing conditions... just no frills. Hmmm, wonder if that makes sense? I did a walk-thru through their buffet. It's called Seasons. It looked 'fair'. Nothing really stood out as appealing. But, i cant judge til i eat it. I wasnt hungry, so i wouldnt have sat down even something did look groovy. For those of you who know... the exit / interchange off the I-15 to get to the Silverton is a royal MESS. End of story. Friday i was at the Gold Coast to cash in a TITO ticket & a sports wager ticket... had about $41... but the dice table got it from me... slight sigh. Otherwise, my only other gaming was over at FIESTA HENDERSON. This included a good amount of sports wagers (see my other Post on here), and some roulette. I, again, did well on their 50-cent wheel. I had some good hits where they paid me in red chips (rather than my color)... and that did me well. Eating... not much to report... just the boring stuff. I did make it into ELLIS ISLAND this morning (late morning). The place was at capacity at 10:00am, but they got me a table right away. When i left, they were on a 25 minute wait-list. I ordered something different... the meatball sandwhich. It was tasty & filling. Not spectacular, but it did the trick. I was out the door (meal, soda, tax, tip) for $8. Oh, i played their STAR WARS penny slot machine. Eighteen spins & got ZILCH!!!!!!! Not too many people playing machines there (nor at their 3 open tables). Just a PACKED bar and a PACKED restaurant. I guess my luck was i found a good parking spot, he he. Today i went bowling for the first time since moving here. Went to the SOUTH COAST.... did three games for (i dunno) $2-something / game. I did alright & got in the 190's. Not bad for not picking up my bowling ball in 7 months. The SOUTH COAST casino at 9am was quiet (real quiet). The line for the buffet was zero. The only place that had a good amount of people was their Seattle-Best coffee parlour & the Sportsbook. I like the lanes at the SOUTH COAST. Well, i ought to... it's very close to new. I wish they offered their yearly lockers for rent to anyone, but you need to be a league member to rent one out. I'm doubtful i'll join a league this season (as i'm new with my job & know my hours/days can change at anytime). But, no biggie i guess. I can always 'open' bowl. The Flaming-O still has all of it's windows pasted with Toni Braxton's image on it, lol. And, the upper floors of the Mirage have the Beatles show pasted on it's windows! I would hope they have some kind of fancy stuff, so the people in THOSE rooms can still look out? That's mostly it. Talk to all of you later on. mK |

i may HOLD OFF on joining up this season... my work schedule can change at anytime--- and leagues are structured. mK |
