to be exact.. the LVRJ is calling it a 'freeze'...
The LV monorail (for june, july, august) failed to reach the mark of 20,000 riders per day on average. They say it's a 38 % drop since 2005 (the same 3 months). whole story at lvrj.com mK |

I wouldnt ride the monorail.. the monorail INVOLVES MORE WALKING.
People who are local in LV & people who visit LV get tired of all the walking. Most of the stations are behind properties.. nestled between 'storage yards', 'parking structures' and the various hotels' main building. I havent even mentioned the rate hikes. The deuce bus (on the other hand) seems like a dandy of a deal. |

Once you're on it, though, it moves. As opposed to the Deuce. Anyway - for me, the monorail is for the MGM to LV Hilton or Sahara run, and vice verse. Works well for that, for me. |

A couple trips ago, I took the monorail, just to see what
it was like. I rode it mid morning from the Flamingo to the LVHilton and then from the Convention Center back to Harrah's. It's quick, stations are well anounced, and the walk from Terminal to casino wasn't all that bad...some were more convienent than others...IT HAS IT'S PLACE, but I wouldn't use it on any regular basis. I think it would be GREAT if you were in town for a convention at the Center and your hotel was one of the stops. |
