greetings from LV (and Henderson too).... here's a quick update:
The work week dragged. I mean it dragged like hell. The amount of orders coming in is pretty high. Nothing i can do about it, except, just do my thing. 48 hours over 5 days. My week / weekend are slightly mirrored with last week. During the week i didnt do any gaming other than ON THE WAY TO WORK one morning. Yea, it's zany... i left pretty early on thursday... and i snuck into the Orleans for 20 minutes. Prezzy zany, but oh well. Some guy was throwing the bones. $10 passline, "10" established, $10 odds, nails the Tennessee, so i'm out of there with a little profit. Gas $ greg, gas $!!! My vehicle is having squealing brak hmmmm.... is it me, or has this web-forum reached an all-time LOW? LOL, i'm talking about car troubles on an LV forum. Oh well. At least most of you can bear with me. ... squaling brakes. So, i think i may go in tomorrow (mon) and have em checked out. Capozzoli's was embarked by misterKeno this last week. I guess it's an italian restaurant that has been around for 30 yrs in LV. Some reviews online remarked that it was pretty good... and (of course) italian owned/ran... not just a NAME on the door. Ordered a pizza for takeout. Really good pizza. I got the meatball pizza & it was quite tasty. Medium pie for $17. It's at 3333 S. Maryland Pkwy ... near sahara (or is it D.I.). Good stuff. I made it back to the 777 BREWPUB @ the MSS early in the week. I dont know if that made the last 'update'. But, oh well. Good eating (again). And, this time my eyes were on a bus-girl. Not a girl who uses the bus for transportation, but a table clearer. Cute girl. But, well, ole SHYNESS misterKeno didnt do anything about it. Such random info eh? Gold Coast (fri nite) Dice buy in $80 - left with $304 Gold Coast (satur inte) Dice buy in $100 - left with $317 South Coast (sun morning) Dice buy in $60 - left with well.. you'll have to read thru a paragraph here. Today (sunday) i didnt sleep in. DANG IT !!!!!!! I wish i would have (to a point). Woke up groggy as heck, but couldnt go back to sleep at 555am. I layed in bed for 30 minutes, then headed out for some early breakfast. It was the SOUTHCOAST. Walked in, did a $60 buy in @ the dice table & worked it to $277 & cashed out. Now (hungry) i went to their coffee shop & sat at their counter & ordered/served/ate quickly. Was french toast & a side of bacon. Orange juice also. Came to $8.12. Headed over to the sportsbook & got a few wagers ((( see sports betting post ))). Then returned to the dice table. Normally i would have just left on account of the sportsbook is very near the entrance, but the dice were calling me. Worked the $277 into $860 & colored it up. I was making a TON of $1 passline wagers for the boys. It was a very very quiet table as i was throwing them 90% of the time. I sort of like that - because lately - no one can make a point besides me. As i prepared to leave the table, the boss asked me if i was hungry. Now, this was the first time (in my life) that i was offered a comp. I said 'yea, sure'. I told him that i just ate - and he said i could return during the day for dinner if i liked. (((((( mind you--i never did make it back there))))). So, he punched me up in the computer & handed me my card back. Then shook my hand. Ooooh, what service at the SOUTHCOAST. LOL. That was my biggest win since moving to town, woohoo. But, i'll quickly fess up. The remainder of today -- i lost 1/4 of it thruout town goofing off @ various places. Guess i'll put my dough in my sock drawer labeled 'rent' & take care of my brakes. I'm glad that i have tomorrow off... my eyelids are heavy at the moment. mK |

Heck of a run at the tables, but the sock drawer is an excellent idea. So how do you like the South Coast overall? |

Al, lol (regarding) downtown!!
The dice have been doing me proud i have to say. I'll be very honest, there are times that i just knooooow i can nail an established point when i'm throwing them. Doesnt make sense--but i guess i just get the FEELIN. There are cold spells with dice--and i had my share today. That's life. Guess what, i bought a mini-fridge for my room. How dandy is that.. cold beverages are within reach as i type on my keyboard. LOL. But, seriously, i'm upstairs, the kitchen is downstairs - something had to give. Al, the SOUTHCOAST is a nice property. I still dont really get it's theme. I mean you have to look at the paper placemats to (maybe) get it. It shows a beach scene. Maybe i'm not the smartest fella... but is there a region in the world called the SOUTHCOAST? Is it like the french riviera? I just dont know. The casino is spread out & roomy. There's never a problem of smoke unless your NEXT to a smoker. Quite high ceilings. The place is (i believe) just 2 or 2.5 yrs old. It has bingo, mega size movie theater, bingo, coffee shop, buffet, steak house, italian restaurant, mexican restaurant, coffee/pastrie thing, and the ice cream parlor. So, yes, basically it's very similar to other COAST casinos. The casino is VERY easy to navigate. You never have to twist your body as you make your way thru a row of slots. Like i said - plenty of room. Three days ago they opened up a deli-type sandwhich place right next to the sportsbook. The prices are steep though. Havent ordered anything from it. But every sandwhich is near $10. They pile em high from what it looks like. One comment, the chairs in the sports section of the sportsbook stink. They're smallish & the cushioning isnt so good for the posterior. Bellagio please send the SOUTCOAST some of your sportsbook chairs, lol. I'll say this though, the staff @ Orleans, Gold Coast, and the Southcoast are especially friendly at the betting windows. If you mis-name a team or betting # -- they dont start yelling at you or look at you funny. Even if it's crowded. If i were visiting LV -- i think i might give SOUTHCOAST a try. It's location is 'blah' .. but, i've talked to a guy standing next to me @ the rouette table & he said they're pretty good. Plus, they've got the 40 inch flatscreens upstairs. Myself - i'm glad to hear they have central heat / air. The older COAST Hotels dont all have that. mK |

Sounds good. I'm likely to at least poke my head in there in Dec, considering a stay as well. (I'd be going from dad's place to son's place, lol, stayin in the family).
It's very new, just opened in Jan or Feb of this year, and isn't completely done yet I don't think. |

Well Matthew, you're sounding like a real 'local'!
I'm glad you're keeping gas in the truck and money in yo socks...are you sure that 'squeek' isn't comin' from yo knees? How do you like your room mate...do you interact much or do you pretty much hide out upstairs. Having your own little frig up there makes it sound like you don't participate in the 'house' much... Having to walk downstairs just to get a soda doesn't sound like that much of a big deal....it's not like you have to drive to SOUTHCOAST to get one ya know... Speaking of SOUTHCOAST, I'm curious to know if you will notice any changes there, now that Michael Gaughan sold out of the COAST side of BOYD. I haven't been out there yet...don't know if I ever will, but you could see some changes now that Michael will be calling all the shots again. You should see the 'new name' SOUTH POINT' showing up aprox. Nov. 1st |

Hi greg... yea, i'm doing okay i suppose. I guess a sign of the times is .. i got my 2nd comp from the boys @ the SOUTHCOAST. I did the buffet (seafood nite). I'm not 'one for' seafood, but oh well. I had some prime rib slices, and a scattering of other items. It was splendid.
My knees are holding up fairly well, he he he he Greg. The roommate is a good fella. He's quite quiet. But, then again - i can be the same way in person. Most of our interaction is about current events (etc etc). Not a party household here in the least. The fridge -- well it was just a SPLURGE item. I know, the stairs arent that bad. But, heck - it's my dough right?? SOUTHCOAST .. only change i've seen is the wording 'southpoint' on the frosted front doors. That's it. I didnt know there was a switch-a-roo in the works. I like the SOUTHCOAST a lot because you can cash in ANY coast casino sportsbook ticket there and they keep open more than one dang craps table (even if it isnt crowded). The SOUTHCOAST is a good thing--hope it isnt messed over. mK |
