Default HOTEL BILLS

Last night I phoned up a couple of hotels we're booked into to pay the balance on the rooms before we go.They wouldnt let me pay!!!!
They took one nights rate as a deposit from my card when I booked ages ago but wont accept the rest of the payment over the phone.
In order to pay I would have to fax them loadsa details(fill out a form, photo ID etc).
How strange! Dont get it from a possible fraud point of view,If I pay now then there is more chance of the card not being stolen/misused coz transaction would have already been processed and determined to be good or bad.

Chancer...

I think it's very common for a hotel to charge your CC the first nite's rate (or sometimes no charge at all). Your CC simply 'holds' the room for you.

When you check out, you are then charged for your 2nd thru 5th nites (as an example)... as well as other charges like room service, etc.

Is there a reason you're WANTING to pay for all the nites in advance?

But, you may have a point on the fraud issue with them asking for all the various forms to be filled out.

If you do some gambling at those hotels and you have a players card so that they can track your play, you may be able to get a night or two comped. If you feel like you have given them a lot of play, it doesn't hurt to ask when you check out. I've gotten many rooms comped just by asking.

Mary's right. THEY don't/YOU don't know what your bill is
going to be at check out. There might be some Room Service,
or other charges to your room...
The discounts from your 'amount of play' is always a factor...
