what is your opinion on mega resorts vs the smaller casinos/hotels?

Which do you personally prefer be it strip or off strip or down town.

On the one hand, I like...
- smaller places. Vegas Club and El Cortez have a more comfortable feel, IMO.
- diners. No better place to get breakfast than from a short order cook, IMO.

On the other hand, I like...
- giant sportsbooks with comfy seats and drink service. The one thing I really like about big strip resorts.
- stuff to wander to. Fremont street pedestrian mall is nice, but the big strip places give you more places to wander around, especially at the corners of LV Blvd and Trop, and LV Blvd and Flamingo.

I like the smaller casinos too. The RIO is about as big a place
I feel comfortable in...PLUSS the fact I've been staying there
forever and know my way around blindfolded.
The PALMS, SILVERTON, GOLD COAST, BARBARY COAST are
my size.
The larger properties are great for my Shows. I know where the
Boxoffice/Showrooms are, but not familiar enought to know my
way around the gaming floors. I'll kill some time before Shows
playing what I find around the Showrooms...other than that,
the LARGE casinos don't offer that much for me and I try and
avoid the Strip as much as possible.

I like almost all of them... except for MGM... it's just TOO big.

I love the bellagio.. and it's conservatory (was in there 2 days ago) .. just splendid. There's a bit of construction going on here/there. But, nothing too bad.

I like smaller places like the Gold Coast & such. Although, the Gold Coast is a pretty good sized place. I think (for me) what it coomes down to ... is that i dont want to be cramped PERIOD.

I needz my elbow room, lol lol lol lol.

Downtown is 'so so' to me. I only make it down there for the reason of hitting the 777 brewpub.

I like what the megaresorts have to offer, like good restaurants, shows, and variety of slot machines. But I do like playing in smaller casinos too, like Barbary Coast and Gold Coast.

I agree with al, about the sportsbook. Love the big huge books. The environment is just amazing! I also like the bigger resorts for poker, more of a selection and more fresh players.

The one and usually only thing I like about the smaller casinos is lower minimums. More play for the money is always good.

Large casino, favorite is Venetian.

Small casino is also the Barbary. Low mins, great Pai Gow, amazing drink service, and the best location possible.

friend @ work has told me that the drink service @ the BC is now 'fair'.... but, i'm sure the $1 or $2 tip will keep the waitress at your beck n call (spell?)

Default Flamingo

The Flamingo seems to attract coprophiliac necrophiles. Other than that, nice play to stay and meet interesting people.
