Finally I can scratch LE REVE off my to-do list!
'Franko', get out of my dreams...this Show has been nagging me to see it forever! LE REVE Theatre is such a treat for the eyes! The colors, texutres, lighting, the pool, the rain, the ceiling and video screens...all VERY COOL! The Show...1hr. would have worked for me...I got bored. The pool takes up the center. It morphs from solid to water like 'O' at times, but doesn't provide enough room to do much for the Artists. Most of the action is in the air...up and down is about the only place the Artists have to work with, which leads to lots of repetition in the routines. Up 'n down, up 'n down, dive in the water, get out of the water, up 'n down, dive in the water again. Many of the costumes are quite stunning. The 4 clowns/era 1940 'The Four Lads' are some what humorous, there are lots of bald guys, one toppless woman, real flying white doves, two 'Creatures From The Black Lagoon', and lots of CIRQUE style music, but in English. If there had been more variety in Franko Dragone's dreams, I would have liked it more...As it is now, it's a very 'wet dream' which usually leaves you a bit unsatisfied. |
