GREGRIO Aug. 7-11

Well, I just got back on Thursday. This was a pretty slow trip actually...
I stayed at the RIO (surprise-surprise)...the gaming was terrible!
Slots/VP...all I did was feed the damn machines. I had a couple hits on
the quarter Double Bonus Machines, but I JUST WASN'T GETTIN' ANY CARDS!

I hooked up with a couple other board members...one from Las Vegas Advisor,
the other from Travel2Vegas. Had dinner at N9ine...the steak restaurant in
the PALMS, and one night at the VooDoo Cafe on top of Masquerade Village at the RIO....aside from that, my normal meals consist of Banana Nut Muffins for breakfast, Burgers and Randy's favorite Grill at RIO, and Bar snacks for my late nite snack with David Letterman....Oh!, and of course, my Carott Cake!

I had lunch by the pools over at WYNN one afternoon...I had to try his Chili that another board friend said was sooo good...AND IT WAS!
It comes in a small crockpot, melted cheese on top, large chunks of tender serloin and tomatoes, with a side-car of sour cream...Chili and Ice Tea $15.
I still haven't seen the show there 'LeReve'. Reviews are getting a bit better, but I'm not ready to see it yet.

Weather was partly cloudy, a few sprinkles, and a great lightning display a couple nights right in front of my RIO windows...very cool.
There was an Oriental Film Festival in town at the Venetian and there were families and KIDS EVERYWHERE! I like kids, just not in Vegas.

My shows were all favorite repeats except for one...Barry Manilow's show at the LVHilton needed my look-see and review...I have some thoughts up under entertainment.
The repeats were Penn & Teller, We Will Rock You and KA`.

Slept late, ate, played, took naps, ate some more, saw some shows, went to McCarran and enjoyed an almost two hour delay for my flight, but made it home just in time to............take another nap!

Greg Happy to see you back.
This really sounded like a very relaxing vacation. Nice mix of shows, gambling and dining. Lot of fun to meet up with board friends. I've been to some meets and you really meet some terrific people.
Sorry you got beat up so badly on the machines...geeeez they could give you some hits for play time. Then you could call it entertainment and not robbery.
Glad you had a good time lots of rest (naps) and planning your revenge for the next trip.

Going for the first time November 21 - 25. Never stayed there, but see that you do all the time. I'm a sucker for a big tub. Do they have one?
