Mom and I arrived Friday night, caught a shuttle to TI. I got a room on the 17th floor with a South Strip view. Nice room, comfortable bed but I didn’t like the pillows. Mom’s room was on the 21st floor near the elevator. My sister Debbie and friend Mercy flew in later that night. Also, friends from California were coming in on Sunday and staying 3 days.

Food:
Todai Japanese Sushi Buffet at Desert Passage Mall – we have eaten here several times and it is always good. It was very crowded at lunchtime so the food turns over quickly and stays fresh. They always have a good selection. I like the tiny bite-size desserts.

Cafe Lago at Caesar’s Palace – we had the Sunday brunch here. It has a nice atmosphere with a pretty view. I enjoyed the live music. The buffet is very small and there was not a big selection, but the food was good.

Bally’s Sidewalk Cafe – had a late dinner here one night. I think my sister and I shared a club sandwich. I was able to use some Total Reward comps since Bally’s is now owned by Harrah’s.

Ruth Chris Steak House – Our friends from California took us here on Monday night. My steak was good, but everything is ala carte and the portions are way too large. There was a lot wasted. Very expensive and not worth the money.

TI Coffee Shop – We were given a line pass when we checked in so we didn’t have to wait. The line pass came in handy during our stay. We ate at the Coffee Shop a couple of times and I enjoyed it each time. I especially like having breakfast late at night and the food here was always good.

TI Dishes Buffet – we enjoyed the breakfast buffet here. I can’t remember what I ate but I remember that there were lots of choices, good coffee, and good service.

Wynn Buffet – we had both the Dinner buffet and the Breakfast buffet here because we earned free buffets by playing there. Their buffet is spectacular. It is a beautiful place, all non-smoking which was nice. The desserts were fancy.

Hyakumi at Caesar’s Palace – On our last night, we were looking for a place to eat at Caesar’s Palace so that I could use some of my Connection comps and decided on a Japanese restaurant. This restaurant was wonderful. It was just like being in a restaurant in Japan. Even our server was Japanese. We all had green tea which was delicious. Mom enjoyed her sushi and sashimi. I had tempura. We had miso soup with tofu. It was all delicious.

Shows:
Fab Four – Mom and I saw this show at the Desert Passage Mall. We used a 2for1 coupon and got VIP tickets in the front section. I have seen Beatles acts before, but this one surpassed all others. They looked just like the Beatles and sounded just like the Beatles. I hope to see this show again one day.

Clint Holmes – I’ve seen this show several times, but my sister and friend had not seen this show. Also we had friends from California who joined us, and we thought everyone would enjoy Clint. He puts on a very entertaining show. He has a great band. My sister bought my mom one of his CDs and got it autographed, and she was thrilled.

Legends in Concert – My sister went over to the Tix4Tonite place at Fashion Show Mall and got us tickets to see Legends. The acts were Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Blues Brothers, Prince, Aretha Franklin, and of course Elvis. We had good seats but the free drinks were not good.

Gambling:
I tried my hardest to win the dollar Wheel of Fortune at the Mirage but it didn’t happen. I also played lots of quarter slots and penny slots. I won $500 on a penny Big Ben slot machine at Harrah’s, and I won $700 on an Arabian Nights penny slot machine at TI. You can win on penny machines! Of course, I still lost overall.

Celebrity Sightings:
At Bally’s, I saw Tyra Banks being interviewed in front of the Jubilee theater. I found out later that she was actually in one of the shows. She was very beautiful.

We were walking through the Wynn shops and walked by Bartolotta’s Italian Restaurant. There were camera lights and we could see that they had just finished filming something. It was Martha Stewart. So we waited as she walked out of the restaurant. Mom told her that she watches her show all the time. Martha was very gracious and told her Thank You. She was in a hurry to get to her next engagement.

The Miss America pageant was going on at the Aladdin so I saw many of the contestants walking around wearing their crowns.

Other:
My sister and I had given Mom a spa treatment at TI as a Christmas gift. I had made reservations for her to have a seaweed bath and aromatherapy massage. She was enjoying it, then the fire alarm went off at TI and her massage had to end a little early. We were leaving the next day so there was no time to reschedule, so they gave back my money for the massage. I told her that when we go back in May, I’ll schedule another spa treatment for her.

Mom and the others went to Barbary Coast to see Big Elvis while I went to Harrah’s to meet with some members from LVTalk. It's always fun to meet with others who share our interest in Las Vegas.

In summary, we had a fantastic time as usual. I didn’t sleep much so I was exhausted when I got home. We saw good shows, ate good food, played lots of slots and visited with friends. What more can you ask for? I’m now looking forward to going back in May.

Ya know how to do it Mary...GAMING,DRINKS,SHOWSandFOOD, along
with good company always makes for a great trip!

I saw LEGENDS last time...I think 'Aretha' is my currant favorite right now.
MADONNA OUT/CELINE IN.....the cast is always changing. I wonder whats
instore for the Show after McHarrah's knocks the IP down next year?

For those who haven't seen The FAB FOUR, Mary's right...
Frank, Garvin, Tony, and Steven look very much like Paul, George,
Ringo and John. Check out their website and surf through the 'clicks'
and see if you don't feel the same...GREAT SHOW !!!
