Default Puttin on the ritz and Show must go on

My december trip is starting to come together. I think the first two nights are downtown (as usual), but hit on a good deal for the Wynn (159/nite plus 75 in food/gaming credit, min 2 nites) and decided to go "uptown" for a change.

Also, this being a solo trip (more or less, I'll be running into folks I know) I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get to a couple shows. Right now I'm thinking Mac King, since I hear so many good things about him. Also, a classic vegas "big magic" show (either the guy at the Trop or the guy at Monte Carlo) and/or classic vegas showgirl show (prob Jubilee or Folies). Rat Pack is an option too. Going solo the 2-for-1's are no help so I'll be scouting at the tix4tonite kiosk.

Opinions welcome on the shows. Not sure if I'm up for dropping a benjy on a Cirque show, but again, I hear great things and honestly, would probably drop that much at the tables over the same time period.

p.s. Wynn offer, for the interested: http://wynn.blutique.net/0076/Landing/index.cfm

Al... good news for you!! Glad to see you've got a trip brewing.

The half price tickets (@ the fashion show mall) has had a pretty wide selection when i walked by last week. They even had la reve avail. Something makes me want to say it's a cirque-type show??? Cant remember.

Sounds like a nice rate for the Wynn hotel. I hope they put you in a dandy room with a view!!!

Supposedly booked a "panorama view" room, which I guess must be pointed at TI? But with a plasma TV in the can, who needs windows?

Good info about the ticket booth at Fashion Show, I've gotta go back into the archives and see what people picked up this time last year.

Well I'm glad to see you're concidering some Shows instead
of gambling it all away...Show memories can stick with you in
a good way too!
Yeah, you should see Mac King. It's cheap, in the afternoon, and
just watching him work his Show is real good...he IS quite the
professional...it IS very much a family style atmosphere though...
if you're looking for a good illusion/magic Show, go with Lance Burton
at Monte Carlo...he has the best Show.

You can't go wrong with either Jubilee or Folies...I like Jubilee best.
...and for a real treat, you can get a 'discounted price' on a ticket
for MYSTERE at TIX4TONIGHT. My only concern is WHERE they offer
the seats...you want something in the upper/back section and NOT
on an extream Right or Left side.
...of course (lol) I can give you more exact seating ideas if you think
you'd use them...ask here, MP me, or use: riogreg@sbcglobal.net
WHEN IS YO TRIP?

Discount on Mystere? That would be a good thing. There's a tix4tonight downtown at 4Qs so I can check that daily, or at Fashion Show when I'm on the strip.

You know your stuff Al...you'll find something.
If you're an old Beatles fan like me, you really should
catch FAB FOUR MANIA at VTheatre in Aladdin's Desert Passage
some time...they're pretty damn good! 6PM Show, and also
at TIX4TONIGHT.

It is so much fun to plan a Vegas trip. I'm busy planning my trip for December too. Jubilee is a great show. I used Tix4Tonite to get half price tickets to see Legends in Concert. That is also a good show and the acts change frequently. I agree with Greg on Fab Four. My mother also enjoyed that Beatles show and we may try to see it again. I have tickets to see Love at the Mirage, so if you are a Beatles fan, you might consider that one.

Love @ the Mirage is one i want to see. I just need to muster (spell?) up the bravery for eighty or ninety bucks for a ticket.
