My trip report

US air from Buffalo on the 12th. Arrive solo around 6:30 pm
Took the CAT public transportation downtown $1.25

Bus fill of locals, not many tourists. I'm a little nervous.
Bus driver was great told him I was staying at the El Cortez. He drop me off at a non regular stop, 1/2 block away.

Fremont street, Downtown was rocking. Two live bands, tons of people.

Check in was quick, I wasn't expecting a nice room for $39/night. They gave a new tower room on the 10th floor. Room was large, like a $100 Mirage rm.

Went to Fremont street, listen to bands, people watch. Saw Larry Jones at Fitzgerald, 9:00 pm show $10, very good Ventrilaquist.

In and out of the downtown casinos, got drunk, back to El Cortez around Midnight. To bed
Sunday morning up early 7 am, still on East coast time. Headache hangover, went outside to Fremont street. Where did all the people go. Street empty, except for cleaners. Went to the Golden nugget other casinos for slot cards. played and loss. Back to the El Cortez for a free breakfast. Not very good.

Checkout time, took the CAT to The Westward Ho.
12 noon they had a room available. First time here, too bad its closing.
Walked the strip all the way to Alladdin and back. Played and get slot cards on the way.

Stopped at the Sahara louge CASBAR, good afternoon free show magican.

My play was pretty good winning some and losing less. I think I'm up today.
back to Westward Ho for free champagne fountain and Bloody Marys.

I like this casino, older group, still I had a good time, met many very nice people.

Next day saw MacKing at Harrahs, good show, saw Fat Elvis at Barbary Coast, also another Elvis at the Westward Ho.

Good trip came back losing less than $100, for 4 days. Played both table and slot.

What I would change, maybe visit Hoover Dam or Lake Mead. Fisrt time solo was OK.

Nice trip. I have rode the CAT a few times, never from the airport though, usually use one of the shuttle services.

Sounds like you covered some ground this trip.

Right on Frank, sounds like one of my trips. Love the El Co, have a tough time convincing folks the hotel is not like the casino.

As a promotion they had two free fountain type drink machines on each bar.
The Bloody Mary's were bad, but the champagn was excellant.

Too bad the Westward Ho is closed NOW.
I would go back again.

I need another casino with a similar crowd to the Westward Ho.
