Default NEW TOPIC IDEAS

The board activity here is very low...theres only a handfull
of folks who keep this sites' head above water...mainly due
to the age group here. Middle aged to retired folks... doesn't exactly
generate alot of the 'young' demographic of Las Vegas today, but
that's who the posters are here (for the most part) and there ARE
things to talk about.

If folks are visiting the East Coast, the 'Boats', or Indian Casinos,
theres comparisons to Vegas to talk about....gaming, cocktail service,
room rates, comps, different players club systems, ambience of casinos...

'longest thread ever?' topic seems to be the only activity on any
regular basis here......I'm surprised it's gone on as long as it has!

NEED SOME NEW IDEAS?.....I post on several other boards. They're
all free, easy to navigate, AND alot more active...'Granny' visits from
time to time.
You might check 'em out, get some ideas and bring 'em back here!
Activity Stimulates Activity, and there certainly isn't any going on here.

I can be partially to blame, I had a link exchange program ready to launch for months now, just haven't gotten around to it. My job is to keep bringing fresh eyes to the forum that will ask questions and share knowledge which would get more activity in general.

So I am always open for ideas...

i always come back to this board--no loud mouths or rude folks

But yo have to remember, some of the others dont have categories broken down -- just one big melting pot. A free for all.

good part - it lets people see your topic question why they browse for other titles & you just may get a replly

bad part - if you want resturant info ONLY --- you'll have to browse for a while.

Hmmm, i dont think we have a food section.

misterKeno,

Yes you have a been a long time contributer and I appreciate that. We use to have a food section at Casino Hype but it didn't get much action, so we merged it with the shows/nightlife.

I usually have decent ideas and plans laid out, but either something changes or just get caught up with other stuff. Some of the other sites have fulltime people that continually keep adding newsletters, articles, stuff like that will keep generating readers. I just don't have enough free time. I wish I did.

For the next month, I have a goal to make 10 posts a day. If I miss a day, the next day I make 20. I won't post junk, but the plan will be to entice the lurkers to register and participate. After this trail month, I am going to get some more strategy cards printed and use those to try to entice posters.

I also got in contact with Google, and they were going to provide their GMail mail service to VegasCoupons users so they would have a great email account @vegascoupons.com

I still haven't gotten around to setting that up either.

This is the only board that I post on.I had a quick look at one of the others and the first thread I saw was full of profanity and arguing.
I can swear as much as the next guy but it seems that some folk are just out to annoy people.
Admittedly this place could do with some more activity,BUT from what I have seen the guys/girls on here are GENUINE. thats good for me!

Rich,

Thanks for feedback.

Yeah, not much arguing around here, but also when it picks up there will be more of it. I will try to keep things under control, but I also don't like to moderate much, that isn't good for a forum either.

Usually check the board daily. But seems if dont have a trip in the planning stages or just got back from one dont have much Vegas related stuff to post about.
As said this is a nice friendly board and enjoy reading and posting here.

all of you--very good points

Grant---one thing that i noticed...

If you navigate:
VEGAS COUPON LINKS----> TRIP REPORTS then you get the old trip reports.

If you navigate:
VEGAS COUPON LINKS---->FORUM HOME---->TRIP REPORTS then you get the most recent ones.

That's a bit of a pretzel turn there--may lead folks a-stray (spell?).

Grant, otherwise, the website is REALLY GOOD. I know you've worked hard at revamping it from the old one. Dont be hard on yourself.

I agree things have always been good here...that's why
I check in regularlly.

If however, you have a question or need quick info and
don't find a quick or complete reply here, I recommend the
2 addresses I listed above.

Good folks, lots of good info, lots of regular visits, very
good navigation (it's still goofy here, but works) and I've
NEVER experienced any negetive/rude posters.
