Well, like i mentioned a while back... i'd be getting some financial backing (from my bro in law) to assist.

It's still sketchy what that will amount to.

<><><>

10 days from now:

1---Leave calif at midnite with a portion of my stuff.
2---Arrive in LV at 9am (when a storage place will open, and before the heat).
3---Leave my stuff in there for a "first month for a dollar deal"
4---Go to an off-strip property & check-in. Shower. Eat.
5---Meet (hopefully) with 6 or so people & look at rooms for rent. Make a deal.
6---Go to nevada DMV & get a license (cant get one w/o an ACTUAL nevada street address).
7---Spend the night. Drive home the next day. This is all contingent on my finding a room on that first day, otherwise, i'll need to burn my 2nd day in town LOOKING for a room........ thusly, not getting an early start back to Calif.

20 days from now:

8---drive back to LV with my bed & remainder of my immediate personal items.
9---move in to my bedroom & get the stuff out of storage before the "free month is over" of course.
10---the next day get WORK.

Couple of thoughts -
- what's the urgency of getting a Nevada license? Kind of a prerequisite for your work?
- I'd start trying to make some employment contacts now, especially with temp places. Depends on the kind of work you do I guess, but could help get the money flow started...

many places of work require you to be a resident of nevada.. that's all..

and yes the temp agency is a top notch suggestion

WOW, major emotional head trip, but the fact
that you're finally doing it is VERY POSITIVE!!!
Keep your focus and try not to get overwhelmed.
One challenge at a time...you've done it before,
you can do it again!

Matthew,
You've got a plan and you're ready. That is the biggest step. Keep the faith and things will work out. I wish you all the best in your adventure. As Greg said, you've done it before and you will again.

Look forward to seeing you log in here again in the near future with lots of stories to share with us.

Good luck Matthew.

That bears repeating. There's a lot of people coming to LV without a plan. You're not one of them -- that puts you ahead of the game. Probably will be some bumps, but if you keep going, you'll get there.

I'm T-6 (or maybe T-5) .. i'll need to book a room for a one niter in the next day or two.

I'm leaninv VERY heavily towards GC or Orleans. Easy in and out from the parking lot.

I think greg (if i remember) is the only one who's stayed at both orleans and GC. I've stayed at Orleans only. The rates are similar for one another with a spread of $5. I liked the Orleans for its comfy bed. I like the GC for the buffet... otherwise, maybe it's a crapshoot (pardon the pun). Heck, i can get into SouthCoast for very close to the same price. But that's too far SOUTH.

Any opinions?
