TR-6 nights at Monte Carlo and Fitzgeralds
Day 1-left Cleveland Airport about an hour late due to plane issues on previous flight from Orlando. Arrived in Oz and swiftly walked to nearest taxi. Checked into Monte Carlo quickly and without problems. Very easy to navigate the MC due to the three separate elevators all within a few yards of each other. The hotel and casino had a very pleasant smell to it. Very perfume-like, but not too strong. Brother arrived an hour later from Philadelphia. Played video poker for the next 3-4 hours, although I did have some luck at the craps table.
Day 2-highlights included two royals playing double double bonus poker with multiple play (50 handed). Unfortunately, I was playing the one penny machine. Bummer, since these were my first royals ever (even on the computer). Still, very exciting. Got a 55 minute deep tissue massage in the morning, which was outstanding. Also, spent some time in the pool. Very nice. Not too many kids running around like you see at other places. By the way, what is it about European and Middle Eastern men and those tight speedos? Do they think that it is sexy or what? And, another thing, let’s start trimming back and chest hair that covers the entire body. Might be just me, but I can’t think that American women really go for all that hair. Ate at the Dragon Noodle. I had the Lemon Chicken with Chicken Fried Rice and a bowl of Wonton Soup. Way too much food. Price was more than fair. Food was a B+. Had some luck at Three Card Poker and Let It Ride. Got creamed at Roulette.
Day 3-moved to Fitzgeralds for the next three nights. Had immediate luck at craps table, while breaking even at LIR and TCP (approximately). Took a walk to El Cortez. Was not as bad as I had thought it would be, but still would never consider staying there. Gave up about $300 at the craps table (very poorly manned by a very cranky staff). VP was also a bust. Did claim about $100 in BJ, although my brother got smoked. Back to the Fitz. Dined at McDonalds.
Day 4-C+ breakfast at the buffet at the Fitz. Played some at the Fitz. Trekked to see the Girls of Glitter Gulch at about 2:00 p.m. Admission was free with the purchase of two drinks. Each had two beers, figuring that the show would be weak. Both of us were impressed with the early afternoon talent. Had some great one-on-one attention in our booth. Both of us took a private dance in the VIP room at $35 each. Much more contact than what we would be receiving in our local towns. Vowed to make this a tradition in the future. Hit a royal at The Fremont playing one penny 25 handed DDBP. Went to the California. Hit another royal playing 50 hand DDBP. This time, I splurged and played the two penny machine!
Day 5-woked up and played at Golden Nugget, Vegas Club, Fremont, and back at the Fitz. No real luck playing VP. Ate dinner at steakhouse in Binion’s. Both of us had prime rib, which totalled out at no better than a C-. That is the second time I’ve eaten there. Probably will be the last time. Went to see our girls again down at The Gulch. Late night was very packed and there was a large variety of pretty girls. Spent some cash on some of the ladies. Played craps with little luck at Main Street Station. What a nice establishment. I enjoyed the 10X odds at MSS. Left Fremont due to only 2X odds. Who the heck would play craps there for any length of time is beyond me. Really enjoyed my time there and hope to pick up free rooms for future visits. Kinda tired of the Fitz. Returned to Fitzgeralds and played craps until I needed to sleep. Also, I did have 4-5 of those 40 ounce Strawberry Daiquiris (only have them in Vegas). Brother left at 4:00 a.m. for return flight.
Day 6-back to Monte Carlo for final night. Walked over to NYNY to cash in $11 ticket for my mother from her last trip. Walked across the street to MGM Grand. Walked through this place and got on the monorail. Stopped at Las Vegas Hilton to get a $1 chip to add to my collection. Back on monorail until the Convention Center. Walked across the parking lot and across the street to catch the shuttle to Wynn. Got another $1 chip. Walked from Wynn to Imperial Palace. Took mom’s $11 (plus my own $4) and played “red” on roulette. Won $15 and then tried to double that, but lost. Stopped at O’Shea’s. Had 1/4 hot dog and another strawberry daiquiri. Sat down and played DDBP on quarter table top. Put in $20. Hit two quads. Walked with about $100 extra in pocket. Back to the MC. Ate at Dragon Noodle again. Same choices and same rating of B+. Almost tried sushi for the first time, but chickened out. Won about $300 playing craps after $200 buy-in. Got a bit tired and sat down at Wheel of Fortune machine ($1). Rarely ever play slots. Put in $20. Within 4-5 spins, I hit the “wheel” and took down $400. Pretty lucky. Told myself that I’d stay until I lost my original $20. Hit for another $150 and cashed out. Sat down at a fifty-cent Monte Carlo machine and hit for another $200. Then, at the craps table, the most amazing thing happened. I bought in at $200 and lost down to $20. Bought in at another $100 and began playing only the Hardways. No pass line. No placing numbers. Nothing but Hardways at $10 each. The girl across from me rolled 10-12 hardways on her roll before rolling the 1-6 (7). One series in particular, she tossed a hard 10, a hard ten, a nine, followed by another hard ten. I walked away after that roll up about $1000. It was amazing.
Day 7-woke up and packed. Checked my bags at the valet and played VP until my turn to leave. Hit another royal playing two cent multiple handed DDBP. Won a little playing $10 BJ and $25 Baccarat. Got home from airport at 2:00 a.m. and got up for physicals at 6:30 a.m. (I’m the A.D. at my school). Began looking for flights to Atlantic City the following day. Trying to find a way to get back out for March Madness. What a blast!
