TR-6 nights at Monte Carlo and Fitzgeralds

Day 1-left Cleveland Airport about an hour late due to plane issues on previous flight from Orlando. Arrived in Oz and swiftly walked to nearest taxi. Checked into Monte Carlo quickly and without problems. Very easy to navigate the MC due to the three separate elevators all within a few yards of each other. The hotel and casino had a very pleasant smell to it. Very perfume-like, but not too strong. Brother arrived an hour later from Philadelphia. Played video poker for the next 3-4 hours, although I did have some luck at the craps table.

Day 2-highlights included two royals playing double double bonus poker with multiple play (50 handed). Unfortunately, I was playing the one penny machine. Bummer, since these were my first royals ever (even on the computer). Still, very exciting. Got a 55 minute deep tissue massage in the morning, which was outstanding. Also, spent some time in the pool. Very nice. Not too many kids running around like you see at other places. By the way, what is it about European and Middle Eastern men and those tight speedos? Do they think that it is sexy or what? And, another thing, let’s start trimming back and chest hair that covers the entire body. Might be just me, but I can’t think that American women really go for all that hair. Ate at the Dragon Noodle. I had the Lemon Chicken with Chicken Fried Rice and a bowl of Wonton Soup. Way too much food. Price was more than fair. Food was a B+. Had some luck at Three Card Poker and Let It Ride. Got creamed at Roulette. Read the rest of this entry »

Trip Report 7/26 – 7/30

Just a quickee trip report. Spent Tuesday night @ Fitzgeralds. My wife & I like at least one night downtown. Lots to see & the casinos are fairly close. I only play video poker so I started right away at Fitz’s steak dinner for 4 of a kind bank of machines. Within 5 minutes I had a quad and a dinner coupon. LOL-that was it! In the next 24 hours never got another one.
We then moved on to Harrah’s for the next few nights. Much quieter during the week than on the weekends(I guess they all are). Anyway, the quads here were also few & far between. Last year I got many, many more. Almost seemed like they were tightened up regardless of what the pay table read. I sure made my donation. In fact, I haven’t seen a beating like that since they put a banana in my pants and turned the monkey loose (apologies to Randy Quaid).
On a positive note, the monorail was working smoothly. A $10 24 hour pass was well worth it & we explored up & down the strip.

Also took a drive to Red Rock Canyon. Only 25 minutes from the strip but it’s another world. I recommend the 13 mile scenic drive. A great place to forget your gaming woes and enjoy nature.

Well, time to regroup, refinance & plan another trip. I guess there really is one born every minute.
